Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
This illustration series is inspired by Jonathan Safran Foer's novel, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close". It follows Oskar, a boy who, after losing his father in the 9/11 attacks, searches New York City for the lock that matches a mysterious key, only to find it has no connection to his father, ultimately finding closure.
Oskar's depression, loneliness, and emotional weight are central to his journey, represented through repetitive, intricate objects that symbolize the heavy, overwhelming feelings he experiences as he meets various people along the way.
